Software Built For How This Country Operates
An operation here is distributed across water. A maintenance call requires a vessel rather than a van. Whether a delivery arrives on Tuesday depends on sea conditions. Two properties twenty minutes apart in good weather can cost a full day in poor weather, and which of the two applies is determined by the season.
Software written elsewhere treats reaching the site as the straightforward part of the work. Here it is the majority of the work, and the assumption sits too deep in an imported system to be corrected through configuration. We therefore develop our own, from inside the conditions it has to operate in.
How We Work
Four Operating Principles
- 01Build For The Operator
- Every feature starts from work somebody has to complete that day: raising a job, assigning a berth, booking a service bay, reconciling cash at the end of an event. A feature that does not make one of those tasks measurably easier is not released.
- 02Own The Domain, Share The Foundation
- One complete platform per operational domain, rather than a single system configured differently for each. What the platforms share sits beneath them: identity, organisational structure, billing, and a single record of what occurred.
- 03Autonomy Over Automation
- Automation executes the steps an operator defines. Autonomy maintains the current state, detects divergence from it, acts, and reports the action taken. An operation that runs overnight requires the second of these.
- 04Say What Is True
- We state plainly what is built and what is not. Nothing published here claims a customer, a figure or a capability that does not exist.
